Canada Basketball has announced a comprehensive multi-year plan to build elite national high-performance training centers, aimed at sustaining the country's rapid rise in the global basketball rankings.

Following a decade of unprecedented success on the international stage, Canada Basketball has officially unveiled its new High-Performance National Development Plan. This ambitious initiative is designed to build a network of elite high-performance training centers across the country, ensuring that Canadian athletes have access to world-class coaching, sports science, and training facilities on home soil. The plan aims to build on the country's current momentum and establish Canada as a consistent, dominant powerhouse in international basketball competition.

The cornerstone of the development plan is the construction of two flagship high-performance facilities: one in Toronto, Ontario, and another in Vancouver, British Columbia. These state-of-the-art centers will feature multiple FIBA-standard courts, advanced biomechanics and motion-capture laboratories, specialized strength and conditioning zones, and dedicated medical and recovery wings. The facilities will serve as the permanent training bases for Canada's junior and senior national teams, providing a centralized environment where elite athletes can prepare for Olympic and World Cup campaigns.

In addition to physical infrastructure, Canada Basketball is establishing a unified national coaching curriculum, developed in partnership with leading sports scientists and international coaching experts. The curriculum will focus on modern tactical systems, analytical game study, and comprehensive athlete wellness, spanning from youth grassroots programs to the professional level. By standardizing coaching methodologies nationwide, Canada Basketball aims to create a seamless transition for young players ascending through the provincial and national team pipelines, ensuring consistent development of core skills.

Funding for the multi-year plan has been secured through a combination of federal sport grants, corporate sponsorships, and private philanthropic donations. The business community has shown strong support, recognizing the immense popularity of basketball among Canada's diverse and youthful demographic. Canada Basketball's leadership emphasized that these training centers will also be utilized to host national youth tournaments, coaching clinics, and community outreach programs, ensuring that the benefits of the high-performance network extend deep into the Canadian sporting community.
